8 County Street Walpole, MA 02081 Organization Contacts: Werner Gertje, President, 508-962-4707 Peter Jackson, Vice-President, 508-429-4879 Trudi Birle, Membership Secretary, 508-695-8296 Sängerchor Boston is a mixed-voice German/American chorus of about 35 members who come from various communities within a 40-mile radius of Boston. The Chor specializes in singing German Folk and Art songs. It is not necessary to have a knowledge of the German language to be a member. Performances include three annual dinner-dance concerts and three Christmas concerts. Each year, in early summer, the "chors" compete in a Sängerfest with other New England German-American choruses. Rehearsals are held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, September through June, at the Boylston Schul-Verein in Walpole. New singers are always welcomed by their Conductor, Mary Louise Schecter |
