Founded in 1960, The German Cultural Club became successful early on. Fifty five members signed up the first year. Most were German-born women who had come here as wives of American servicemen after World War II. The goals of the club were defined then -- to build bridges of friendship and understanding in our American neighborhoods and to pass on our German cultural heritage.

Our club gets together once a month; the meeting consists of a business program as well as a cultural part, with refreshments provided by one of the members. Other highlights are: our annual outing (museum, concert or theater visits, trips into the countryside, etc.), a dinner to end the club year in June, and our traditional Christmas party.

The club welcomes anyone who is interested in German culture and German language.
